Prashakya is the artistic identity of Saurabh Pralhad Shakyammuni, an Indian guitarist and composer whose music fuses rock energy with cinematic storytelling and deep emotion. Picking up the guitar at just eight years old, he discovered his calling in 2005 after a life-changing encounter with guitar legend Joe Satriani, a moment that set him on a path to dedicate his life to music.
While earning his Bachelor of Management Studies, he completed an online Master Certificate from Berklee College of Music, and later earned a scholarship to study at Berklee in Boston. There, his peers nicknamed him “Sage” for his calm, reflective nature — a quality that continues to define his artistry.
Returning to India before completing the program, Prashakya launched himself into the live music scene, sharing stages with Sonu Nigam, Salim–Sulaiman, and DJ Lloyd at India’s first electronic dance music festival, Bollywood Boom. Since then, he has performed over 500 shows and collaborated with some of the country’s top playback singers, earning a reputation as one of India’s most versatile and expressive guitarists.
Since his first acoustic instrumental release in 2017, Prashakya has evolved into a genre-fluid composer, blending soaring rock riffs, cinematic soundscapes, and intricate rhythms. His music is fearless, emotive, and immersive — a journey that invites listeners to feel every note, every story, and every emotion.
